The Alhambra is a magnificent palace and fortress complex. It was built on the ruins of an old fort in 11th century by the Amazigh King Badis ibn Habus of the Zirid dynasty and later completed in the 14th century by the Arab Nasrid dynasty. It was converted into a royal palace in 1333 by Yusuf I, Sultan of Granada.

The Moor’s rule was in place for much of Spain for 800 years from 711 to 1491 and was a great time of culture and innovation in Europe.
